Gerard Way Says Young Animal Will Wrap Up Its Current Iteration

But Doom Patrol will continue? Good joke.

With a potential My Chemical Romance reunion on the horizon, it's no surprise that Young Animal is beginning to wind down as Gerard Way has trouble juggling one project at a time. All of Young Animal's current titles (Shade the Changing Woman, Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye, Mother Panic: Gotham A.D., and Eternity Girl) will be ending after their sixth issues this August.

Way provided a statement to The Beat.

"I want to give everyone an update on Young Animal. In August, SHADE, CAVE CARSON, and MOTHER PANIC will end at issue 6 as we originally planned, alongside ETERNITY GIRL. It's been an incredible run for each of them and I'm so thankful to all the writers and artists who began this journey with me, and who created such incredible stories."

Despite its many, many, many delays speed bumps, Doom Patrol will return, according to Way.

"It's also important to me that we get the Doom Patrol schedule back on track. We'll be taking a few months break so we can get caught up."

Young Animal will return at some point as well, presumably after My Chemical Romance gets this reunion out of their system.
