Once Again, IDW Needs Your Help To Produce A Game For One Of The Biggest Franchises Of All Time

Nickelodeon must be on hard times.

After the success of its last Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles board game Kickstarter, it's only natural that IDW Publishing would go back to the crowd-funding model since they have nothing to lose. This time though they're not going down alone as they're bringing Steve Jackson Games down with them.

Launching March 7th is the Kickstarter for Munchkin Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the latest in a long line of Munchkin card games. The only difference is that for the last 25 or so versions of the game, they didn't need Kickstarter.

Players take on the roles of the Turtles and their friends to fight monsters and grab treasure. The card game will be available in standard, deluxe, and deluxe ultimate formats and features all-new art from iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator, Kevin Eastman, along with artist Tadd Galusha, and gameplay developed by designer Jon Cohn.

There will be three editions of the game available, the retail version which any loser off the street can get, a deluxe edition which features character standees and a fully illustrated mounted Level tracker, and a deluxe ultimate edition which adds variant, retro-style coloring.tmnt.jpg

The standard edition will cost $25 and the deluxe editions will cost $30. It's unknown how much IDW is asking for in total for this Kickstarter, but judging by the $250,000 goal of the first TMNT Kickstarter, we can only assume IDW will be looking for $500,000 this time around. Gotta keep those shareholders happy somehow.
