In the Summer of 2016, it was announced that a legendary character would be made canon in the Star Wars universe. Grand Admiral Thrawn made his way from the post-Return of the Jedi era Heir to the Empire novels to the canon Star Wars Rebels cartoon series. Not only did was set to be the big bad in the animated series, but he was to get his own novel, Star Wars Thrawn, by the author that brought him to life, Timothy Zahn.
Well, the character survived his debut in Star Wars Rebels, and will continue on in the final season of the cartoon. He is also getting a comic adaptation of his recent novel next February. That's not all he's getting on the print side though. At New York Comic Con's Lucasfilm Publishing panel, it was announced that a sequel to his novel was also in the works. The novel will be titled Thrawn: Alliances and will again be written by Zahn. While it remains a mystery who exactly he will be allied with, it was also revealed that he would have special guest star: Darth Vader.
