September is DC's "event" month (New 52 launch, Forever Evil launch, Batman Day), so in order to pad out those numbers, the publisher is including their time-tested lenticular variants with that month's Action Comics (#987 and #988) releases as part of The Oz Effect.

Written by Dan Jurgens with art by Viktor Bogdanovic, the four-parter will reveal the identity of Mr. Oz and the meaning behind kidnapping characters such as Tim Drake, Mister Mxyzptlk, and Doomsday. The Oz Effect will continue into October with more yet-to-be-seen lenticular covers for Action Comics #989 and #990.
